Hazel Man Faces Multiple Charges After Stolen Car Tip

Calloway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Hazel man last week after recovering two stolen cars and more than dozen guns at his residence.

Calloway deputies received a tip from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office that a stolen vehicle could be at the home of 39-year-old Dennis L. Bright on U.S. Highway 641 South. According to a police report, the deputies found the car at Bright’s home, along with a second stolen vehicle, three stolen firearms and methamphetamine. Bright, a convicted felon, is also charged with the possession of a dozen other guns found at his house.

Bright was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center on six separate charges: 1st degree trafficking in controlled substance (firearm enhanced); possession of firearm by a convicted felon; possession of defaced firearm; receiving stolen property (firearm); receiving stolen property (U.S. $10,000); possession of drug paraphernalia.
