Paducah, KY – The name "John Malkovich" and the word "quirky" may be tailor-made for one another, but the southern Illinoisan (he's from Christopher, 20 miles outside Carbondale) never fails to bring a humanity to his roles, no matter how odd. Malkovich gets to indulge his comedic chops in the film, "The Great Buck Howard," with Colin Hanks. I spoke with Larry Thomas about this story of a down-on-his-luck mentalist, playing this week at Paducah's Maiden Alley Cinema.
