Grading Scale
By Angela Hatton
Paducah, KY – The Paducah School Board will hear public comments tonight on a proposal to institute a district-wide grading scale. The Paducah Sun reports several parents oppose the measure, which would toughen the grading scale for all elementary schools. The stricter scale would match the one used at Paducah Middle and Tilghman High schools. Some parents argue toughening the scale could discourage children early in their education. District Superintendent Randy Greene says schools need to raise their expectations, not lower them.
