Governor-Elect Bevin Launches Website to Take Administration Applications

Kentucky governor-elect Matt Bevin has launched a website to take applications for jobs in his administration.

The website looks to fill “non-merit” positions, meaning Bevin has the authority to hire and fire people for those jobs.

Also known as unclassified positions, those listings don't include formal prerequisites such as college degrees or prior experience.

According to the website, the governor-elect seeks applicants that share his values, regardless of political affiliation.

Bevin announced his first member of staff Tuesday. Louisville attorney M. Stephen Pitt will serve as general counsel.

The new governor takes office December 8.
