Murray, KY – 'Goody's Clothing Store is returning to Murray under new ownership. On July 7, Stage Stores Inc., which also operates Peebles Company, acquired the Goody's name. Andrew Hinz of Stage Stores says the company considered opening a Peebles in Murray, but ultimately decided on Goody's because of name recognition. The store is scheduled to open August 20 in the space formerly occupied by Dawahares on North 12th Street. The next closest Kentucky Goody's location will be Shelbyville.
