Madisonville's GE Aviation plant is cutting 80 positions by mid-September through layoffs and retirements.
The plant says low demand calls for the force reduction, citing budget cuts and cuts to the U.S. Departement of Defense. The plant’s benefits and human resources teams will work to provide severance packages and placement services. GE Aviation Madisonville employs about 600 and manufactures engine components for military and commercial aircraft.
