Murray, KY –
Independent Kentucky gubernatorial candidate Gatewood Galbraith is portraying himself as a clear alternative to the incumbent governor and the Republican nominee in next month's election. Speaking to a large gathering of county officials, Galbraith told a gathering of county officials Thursday that re-electing Democrat Steve Beshear would be like renewing the contract of a last-place baseball manager. Galbraith says Republican candidate David Williams has no chance of winning and said it's time voters reject failed policies that result in job losses, cronyism and poor health care for many Kentuckians. He promoted his proposal to give a laptop computer to every eighth-grader in the state and to give all high school graduates a $5,000 voucher to further their education.
