Furniture Manufacturer Adding 42 Jobs to Ohio County Facility

A furniture manufacturer is expanding operations at its Ohio County facility and is expected to create up to 42 new jobs and invest $318,000 in the area.  

The Indiana-based Kimball International Inc. produces office furniture for companies in the hospitality industry.  

The company’s 195,000 square-foot Fordville facility opened in 1973 and currently employs 181 people.  

“Kimball is another example of a company that has found success in Kentucky and is growing,” said Gov. Steve Beshear. “I want to congratulate the company for reinvesting in Ohio County and adding to the economic footprint in western Kentucky.”

The state is providing up to $300,000 in tax incentives through the Kentucky Business Investment program.

The company plans to use the  for the production of Kimball Hospitality furniture. This move will not only add new jobs to the area, but will also bring product previously made in Asia back to the United States.

Production is expected to start later this month.
