Four Finalists For Paducah’s City Manager Position To Attend 'Meet And Greet'

CITY OF PADUCAH

Paducah City Manager finalists will introduce themselves to residents next week at a public meet and greet.

Mayor Brandi Harless announced the four finalists at a City Commission meeting on Monday.

The finalists include current City Administrator for Effingham, Illinois, Jim Arndt, the County Administrator for Halifax, Virginia, Jim Halasz, former City Manager for Dixon, Illinois, Cole O’Donnell and former Village Manager for Carpentersville, Illinois, Mark Rooney.

Paducah Information Officer Pam Spencer said the job listing closed in April.

“We ended up with 30 candidates, and it’s been a process over the past month and a half or so, just going through the candidates and trying to narrow the field,” She said.

The city has been working with Strategic Government Resources to assist in a nationwide search for the recruitment and selection of Paducah’s next City Manager.

Jeff Pederson served as city manager for seven years before Mayor Brandi Harless asked for his resignation in December.

In addition to the upcoming reception, the candidates will participate in face-to-face interviews with the Board of Commissioners, touring the city, and meeting with Department Directors.

The meet and greet is May 21 in the lobby of the Julian Carroll Convention Center from 5:15 until 6:45 p.m.
