Former Marshall County Football Coach Sentenced to 7 Years for Sex Crimes with Minor

A judge has sentenced former Marshall County high school football coach Ron Barnard to seven years in prison after Barnard pled guilty to felony sex crimes with a minor. 

He will be eligible for parole after he completes 20 percent of his jail time along with a sex offender treatment program. Barnard will also be a listed sex offender for at least 20 years.

The Sheriff’s Department arrested Barnard in June 2014 after a six month investigation stemming from allegations made by a 15-year-old student.

A proud native of Murray, Kentucky, Allison grew up roaming the forests of western Kentucky and visiting national parks across the country. She graduated in 2014 from Murray State University where she studied Environmental Sustainability, Television Production, and Spanish.
