Update: Due to weather, the ceremony has been moved to the conference room in the Parks Services Building at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive.

A company contracted to clean up the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant is donating 500 red maple trees to the City of Paducah for Earth Day.

Fluor Corporation and partners LATA Sharp Remediation Services and Chicago Bridge & Iron are donating the trees to be planted at various parks across the city.

Parks Services Director Mark Thompson said in a release tree planting partnerships “positively impact the city’s environment, beauty and budget.”

A planting ceremony is Friday at 1:30 in the Noble Park Amphitheatre. The ceremony may be moved indoors due to weather.

Earth Day is April 22.
