Hickman, KY – The Dorena-Hickman Ferry on the Mississippi River between western Kentucky and Missouri has reopened. The ferry had closed last month because of high water.
A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman says the ferry resumed service Wednesday but will only operate Wednesdays through Sundays until July 1 to try to save operating expenses. The ferry is the only way to cross the river between Kentucky and Missouri without going into another state.
