Earlington Mayor Wants Bond Back

By Chris Taylor

Earlington, KY – Earlington Mayor Mike Seiber is seeking to withdraw a bond he posted for a man charged with murder. Seiber posted $20,000 in October for the release of his longtime friend 33-year-old John Hamilton, who was indicted in connection to the hit and run death of 18-year-old Julia Wooten of Madisonville. Now, he wants that money back and Hamilton back in jail, after Hamilton was again arrested last month for allegedly shoplifting a rifle scope from Wal-Mart. The Commonwealth Attorney's Office has filed a motion to return him to jail, claiming the subsequent arrest breaches a condition of his previous bond. The Madisonville Messenger reports a court date is set for later this month.
