Discovery Park of America is Now Home to a Titan One Missile

Discovery Park of America

Discovery Park of America is now home to a Titan One Missile. The missile was transported from Huntsville Space Center in Alabama to the Union City museum over the weekend.

Director of Marketing Mary Nita Bondurant says contractors will be refurbishing the Titan One for display in the park.

“They make things look like they did when they were brand new. And they will be working on this missile for the next three or four months. And then hopefully we will install it in STEM Landing and people driving by won’t be able to miss it,” Bondurant says.

Bondurant says she hopes the Titan One will be ready for display by October or November. It will be on display outside the Military Gallery at the park.

The missile is projected to be as tall as the Tower at Discovery Park when standing upright.

Jeff and David Ursery will be restoring the missile.

It is a gift to the park from NASA.
