Dinosaur Jr.

Dinosaur Jr., formed in 1984 in Amherst, Mass., is well known for its influence in the noisy, guitar-heavy, DIY style that permeated college-radio airwaves in the late 1980s and 1990s. The group, which then included Lou Barlow on bass and Murph on drums, often served as a vehicle for frontman J Mascis' songwriting and guitar work. After much early success, Mascis fired Barlow, who went on to form Sebadoh.

The original trio reunited in 2005, more than 15 years after Barlow's departure. Since then, Barlow has put out another Sebadoh album and Mascis made his first solo record, Tied To A Star — but this year, Dinosaur Jr. got together once again for the new album Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not. Hear the band perform songs from its new record in this session.
