The oldest American school located outside of the United States, Robert College was founded on this day in Istanbul in 1863. It's an independent, private, accredited high school located on 65-acres. Among the alumni include several prime ministers, journalists, artists, entrepreneurs, and a Nobel Prize recipient.

Murray-Calloway County Hospital's Wellness Works program offers free blood pressure and osteoporosis screenings tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 11:30 at the Calloway County Senior Center. For more information on the Wellness Works schedule or about the screenings offered, call 270-762-1348.

Paducah Parks Services hosts Touch a Truck Thursday from 10 to 12 in the parking lot next to the Farmer's Market in downtown Paducah. The free event allows kids, teachers, and families to see and touch approximately two dozen types of vehicles, including a helicopter, fire truck, ambulance, tow truck, concrete mixer, dump truck, garbage truck, trolley, and police car. 

Angels Attic Thrift Shop seeks donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and toys. Sale proceeds benefit the Angels Community Clinic, which provides healthcare to the working uninsured in Calloway County. Bring donations to 972 Chestnut Street Monday through Saturday from 8 to 5.
