Datebook: October 7 - British Imperialism, Small Town Craft Show, Adult Spelling Bee

Murray State University's department of history hosts a research forum this Thursday afternoon at 4 in Faculty Hall room 505. The topic is "After the Sunset: The Aftermath of British Imperialism,” featuring presentations by Kathy Callahan, Zackery Heern, David Pizzo, and Taufiq Rashid. The St. Francis Ladies Club of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Dover hosts a small town craft show and fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free, family-friendly event features over thirty vendors with wooden toys, crocheted items, jewelry, pottery, birdfeeders, hairbows, chainsaw art, and more.

The 6th annual Murray Adult Spelling Bee and Silent Auction is October 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Murray Woman's Clubhouse. To register a three-member team, call (270) 753-7870. Proceeds benefit Calloway County Adult Education and Murray Woman's Club Alpha Department literacy projects.
