Datebook: October 27 - Civil War Editorials, Paris Christmas Concert, Carter's Kids 5K

As part of the Murray State University Department of History Research Forum series, Dr. Melony Shemberger speaks on "Voices of a Border State: Editorials of the Civil War Kentucky Press" this Thursday afternoon at 4 in Faculty Hall room 201. Shemberger is an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication at Murray State. The presentation is open to the public. 

The Paris Henry County Arts Council invites musicians to participate in its annual Christmas concert. The first rehearsal is tonight at 7 in the choir room of First United Methodist Church. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday through the month of November, concluding with a performance December 6 at 3 p.m. For more information, visit phcarts.com.

Murray Swim, Bike, Run hosts a 5K to raise money for the Carter's Kids on Campus fund this Saturday morning at 8. The race begins in the Roy Stewart Stadium parking lot. For more information or to register, visit runsignup.com.
