Datebook: October 21 - Symphony Orchestra, Kidapalooza, Food Pantry

The Murray State University Symphony Orchestra gives its first full concert of the fall semester this Thursday night at 7:30 in Lovett Auditorium. The program includes works by Mussorgsky, Mascagni, Tomasi, and Saint-Saens. The ensemble is conducted by Professor Dennis Johnson. The performance is free and open to all.

The seventh annual MadisonvilleKidapalooza is this Saturday from 10 to 1 around the courthouse square in the city’s historic downtown district. The free event features boat races, hula hoops, bean bag toss, book bingo, face painting, balloon sculpting and more. For more information, call (270) 821-4171. 

The Mayfield Food Pantry holds its annual food drive this Saturday. Volunteers accept food item donations at Big Lots, Food Giant, Save-A-Lot, and Walmart from 8 to 2. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to a later date.
