Datebook: October 20 - Make It Real, Empty Bowls Dinner, Adult Spelling Bee

The work of digital artist Jessye McDowell is on display through November 13th in the Mary Ed Mecoy Hall Gallery at Murray State University. The exhibit is titled “Make It Real” and features a series of landscape-based compositions created with 3D modeling software. The gallery is located on the sixth floor of the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building. 

The Murray Art Guild hosts an Empty Bowls Dinner this Friday night from 5 to 7 at the guild. The dinner is a simple meal of soup served in handcrafted bowls. Proceeds go to Need Line, which helps people in the community with food insecurities. More information at murrayartguild.org.

The 7th Annual Murray Adult Spelling Bee is Monday night at 6:30 at the Murray Woman’s Clubhouse. Teams of three adult spellers compete in elimination rounds. Proceeds benefit Calloway County Adult Education and Murray Woman’s Club literacy projects. To register a team, call (270) 753-7870.
