Datebook: October 2 - 8 Inches of Separation, Beauty of Flowers, Harvest Moon Ball

An art exhibition titled “8 Inches of Separation” opens with a reception this Saturday from 4 to 7 at the BiLan Liao Gallery in Paducah. The group exhibition features the work of BiLan Liao, Char Downs, Maureen Ursery, Michael Crouse, and Paul Lorenz. Regular gallery hours are Saturdays from 1 to 5.

Nature photographer William Parmley speaks on capturing the beauty of flowers at the MCMGA October Toolbox event. The presentation includes information about composition, lighting, and background, as well as some simple photo editing techniques. The presentation is Tuesday night at 5 at the McCracken County Extension Office. It’s open to all, with no advance registration required. 

The annual Harvest Moon Ball is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8-10:30 p.m. at the Robert Cherry Civic Center in Paducah. The non-competitive recreational ballroom dance is hosted by the Paducah Jazz Ensemble. To make reservations, call (270) 898-0181 or email paducahjazz@gmail.com.
