The Friends of the WG Rhea Library hold a sale of used children’s books this Saturday from 10 to 3 at the Kroger shopping center in Paris. There’s a drawing for a set of Dr. Seuss books, and the Cat in the Hat visits with children and hands out bookmarks.
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park hosts its annual Stars and Stripes 5K night run this Saturday. The course crosses Kentucky Dam, featuring scenic nighttime views of the lake and themed glow fun. All participants are eligible for door prizes and age category awards. Race-day registration starts at 6 p.m. at the beach pavilion, and the race begins at 7.
The Save the Massac Annual Holiday Open House Soup & Salad Luncheon is this Sunday from 11 to 2 at the Happy Hearts Building in Metropolis. Dine-in and carry-out options are available. Proceeds help restore the Massac Theatre.
