Datebook: November 30 - Michael Jackson Releases Thriller 30 Years Ago

The world became thrilled on this day in 1982, when Michael Jackson released his sixth studio album, Thriller. Seven of the nine songs reached the Billboard Top 10. In one year the album became (and remains) the best-selling album of all time. And it won eight Grammy awards. Don't even get me started on the music video... One cannot dance and type at the same time.

The Paducah Railroad Museum hosts a Polar Express Party tomorrow with events at 11, 1, and 3.  Kids are invited to participate in games, crafts, and a reading of “The Polar Express.” The museum is located at 200 Washington Street, across from the Carson Center.  See details at paducahrr.org.

The Paducah Symphony Youth Orchestra presents their winter concert on Sunday at 2PM at Paducah Tilghman High School Auditorium.  The orchestra is made up of young musicians from McCracken and Graves Counties.  Admission is $10 for adults and free for students.  Purchase tickets by calling 444-0065.

The Paducah School of Art offers their second annual Holiday Art Sale this weekend at the Clemens Center Gallery.  The sale features unique works of art by students and faculty members, including ceramics, photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, and fabric art.  Hours are tomorrow from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 11 to 3.

He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
