Datebook: November 12 - MSU Art Auction, African American Memorial, Death Row Exoneree

Murray State University’s Department of Art and Design holds its Annual Art Auction this Friday night in the Clara M. Eagle Art Gallery, located on the 6th floor of the Fine Arts building. This year’s featured artist is Wayne Bates. Viewing and Silent Auction begin at 6 p.m. and the live auction starts at 7. 

There's an unveiling ceremony for the African American Memorial at East End Cemetery in Cadiz this Saturday afternoon at 2. The memorial honors African Americans who are buried at East End with no grave markers. Dr. Steve Jones is the keynote speaker, and music is provided by the Trigg County Community Choir.

Amnesty International at Murray State University hosts death row exoneree Kirk Bloodsworth Friday night at 6 in MSU's Freed Curd Auditorium. Bloodsworth is the first person in the United States exonerated from death row by DNA testing. The lecture is open to all.
