Datebook: November 10 - Our Town, Veterans Day Parade, 1920s Hopkinsville

Graves County High School's Senior Theatre presents the classic Thornton Wilder play "Our Town" tomorrow evening at 7 at the Graves County Schools' Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at the box office starting an hour before the performance.

Paducah's Veterans Day Parade is tomorrow morning. An opening ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at the gazebo at 2nd and Broadway. The ceremony includes the presentation of the 2014 Distinguished Veteran and the naming of the non-veteran winner of the Patriot Award. The winners of the DAR's Veterans Day Essay Contest are also introduced. The parade starts at 11 and travels along Broadway to 17th Street.

Christian County Historian William T. Turner gives a special presentation as part of the Big Read project tomorrow night at 7:30 at the Christian County Historical Society. The presentation provides insight into how Hopkinsville compared to the setting of The Maltese Falcon and what life was like during that time period. The presentation is open to all.
