Datebook: May 7 - Cardboard Boat Regatta, Bird Photography, Blood Drive Scholarship

Discovery Park of America holds its 2nd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on May 30. The deadline to enter is Friday, May 22. Awards include first, second, and third place; a team spirit award; the "Titanic Award" for the most spectacular sinking; and "The Van Gogh Award" for most creative boat. Photography enthusiasts are invited to visit the Nature Station this Saturday morning from 9 to 10 for a special early-morning photo session with exclusive access to the backyard and its birds. Space is limited, and reservations are required at (270) 924-2020.

The American Red Cross offers high school and college students ages 16 to 24 the chance to win a scholarship by hosting a blood drive through the Leaders Save Lives program. A total of 10 scholarships will be awarded, as well as electronic gift cards for students meeting their collection goals. Register at redcrossblood.org/leaderssavelives.
