Today we remember Kentucky native Rosemary Clooney, born on this day in 1928. She rose to stardom with "Come On-a My House" and had several number-one hits including "Half as Much," "Hey There," "This Ole House," and "Mambo Italiano" (#1 in the UK). She was also the aunt of George Clooney.

The Run for Life 5K, benefiting Lifehouse Care Center of Murray, is Saturday beginning at 8AM at 602 Poplar. Pre-register at or pick up a registration form at the center. Race-day registration starts at 7AM. For more information, call 753-0700.

Angels Attic Thrift Shop seeks donations of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing; furniture; appliances; household items; and toys. Sale proceeds benefit Angels Community Clinic, which provides health care to the working uninsured in Calloway County. An exhibit at Hopkinsville Community College features the work of local artist Barbara Gardner and her students. The exhibit is on display 8-5 Monday through Friday through the end of the month at the HCC Auditorium Building Gallery.
