Datebook: May 21 - Safe Sitter Classes, Children's Book Donations, National Trails Day

Baptist Health Paducah offers Safe Sitter classes to boys and girls ages 11-14 this summer. Safe Sitter is a medically-accurate babysitting course that teaches young teens life and safety skills. Classes are held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 29 and June 12. Class size is limited, so pre-registration is required by calling (270) 575-8444. 

The Christian County Literacy Council seeks donations of new or gently-read children's books for the Community Bookshelf Program. Contributions are tax-deductible. To arrange for delivery or collection, contact the Literacy Council at (270) 962-7114.

Land Between the Lakes celebrates the 23rd annual National Trails Day on Saturday, June 6. The public is invited to help with general trail maintenance on the Central Hardwoods Scenic Trail. Volunteers meet at Golden Pond Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. and work until around noon. For more information about volunteering, call (800) 455-5897.
