The Symsonia Parent Teacher Organization hosts the Slabtown Festival and Color Run this Saturday at Symsonia Elementary. Registration for the color run starts at 7:30, and the race starts at 9. A parade starts at 11, the Kids Funzone runs from noon to 5:30, and a cornhole tournament starts at 2. There’s live entertainment all day. Proceeds benefit the school library.
The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts holds auditions for “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” this Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Bring a prepared song that is not from “Sweeney Todd.” No prepared monologue is needed. For more information, visit glemacenter.org.
The Open Gate Garden Club holds a garden tour and plant sale Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 beginning at 334 North 8th Street in Paducah. Plants include trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers, and bulbs. Garden art and supplies are also available. Tickets are $10 on the day of the event.
