Datebook: May 13 - Joe Louis' Birthday

The Hopkinsville Art Guild High School Juried Art Contest holds an awards reception Thursday night from 5 to 7 in the Guild Art Gallery, located in Bradford Square Mall. In honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Week, the Calloway County Sheriff's Office hosts a brief memorial service tomorrow at noon at the Murray City Cemetery. Chaplain Andy Harrell is the speaker. The public is invited to attend.

The 2014 Little River Days Festival runs Thursday through Saturday in downtown Hopkinsville. Thursday night includes carnival rides and amusements. Friday hear live music from "The Respectables." Saturday's activities include live music from "The Katie Austin Band" and entertainment from Ken Karter, The Funny Dummy Show, and the 2014 Hoptown Talent Showcase Finals.
