Datebook: May 11 - Beaded Jewelry, Kids to Parks Day, Angel's Attic Donations

Tennessee artist Gail Meyer discusses "The Joy of Making Beaded Jewelry" at the Hopkinsville Art Guild's Brown Bag Lunch Series event this Wednesday at noon. The artist demonstrates techniques and displays examples of various beaded jewelry designs. The event is free and open to all.

Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site in Wickliffe celebrates Kids to Parks Day this Saturday from 9:30 to 3:30. Play outdoor games including hoop and darts, stickball, and corn toss, and make a Mississippian Indian style necklace to take home. Angel's Attic Thrift Shop seeks donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and toys. Sale proceeds benefit the Angels Community Clinic, which provides healthcare to the working uninsured in Calloway County. Bring donations to 972 Chestnut Street Monday through Saturday from 8 to 5.
