We lost Ed McMahon in 2009, but his legacy is best remembered as Johnny Carson's sidekick and announcer on The Tonight Show and as the host of Star Search. Conan O'Brien said Carson and McMahon created "the most iconic two-shot in broadcasting history. There will never be anything like that again."

It’s Wednesday, March 6

The Homeplace at Land Between the Lakes offers a program titled “All About Pigs” on Saturday from 10 to 1.  Learn about the economic importance of pigs, how they were raised in the 1850s, their role as a food animal, and how to raise pigs today for your own dinner table.  Also, see a lard-rendering demonstration.  Find details at lbl.org.

The Opera Workshop students at Murray State University present an Aria Showcase Friday night at 7:30 in the Performing Arts Hall, located on the second floor of the Old Fine Arts Building.  The recital is free and open to the public.
