Datebook: March 11 - Sonata Recital, Hoptown 'TED' Talk, Canadian Trains

The Murray State University department of music hosts a guest artist recital tonight featuring two professors from Western Kentucky University. Ching-Yi Lin, violinist, and Zachary Lopes, pianist, present the recital of sonatas by American composers Charles Ives, William Bolcom, and John Corigliano. The free recital starts at 6 in the Performing Arts Hall on the MSU campus. 

"Hoptown's Own TED Talk: Ted Poston, The Dean of Black Journalists" is tomorrow night at 5:30 at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Community Room. The Hopkinsville native was the first African-American journalist to build a career at a white mainstream newspaper. The presenter is Jennifer P. Brown. Admission is free.

A miniature train operated by the Canadian National Railroad visits the Paducah Railroad Museum this Saturday. The train gives free rides to kids and adults from 10 to 4. More information at paducahrr.org.
