Datebook: July 31 - Pet Food Drive, Kentucky Crafted Applications, Drag Boat Racing

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office continues its pet food drive benefiting the Hopkins County Humane Society. Drop off unopened bags or cans of cat or dog food Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through August 14. 

The Kentucky Arts Council is accepting applications for the Kentucky Crafted Program, an adjudicated marketing assistance program for visual and craft artists. It provides assistance to Kentucky artists through marketing and promotional opportunities and arts business training. The application deadline is August 17. The Kentucky Drag Boat Association hosts drag boat races tomorrow and Sunday at Pisgah Bay on Kentucky Lake. Races run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on weather and the number of participants. Time trials are held on Saturday and final races on Sunday. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or ground blankets. More information at kdba.net.
