Datebook: July 3 - Freedom Fest, Henry Faulkner Exhibit, Drag Boat Races

Freedom Fest kicks off today in downtown Murray with a street fair and block party, then continues tomorrow with a 5K run, a veterans remembrance ceremony, a car show, a community band concert, fireworks, and more. See a complete schedule of the weekend’s events at tourmurray.com

"The Henry Lawrence Faulkner and the Greene Settle Collection" remains on display at the Janice Mason Art Museum through August 22. Henry Faulkner was born in Beech Spring, Kentucky, and became an internationally acclaimed artist whose works are known for their color, imagination, and child-like innocence. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 4 and Sunday from 1 to 4.

The Kentucky Drag Boat Association holds races on Kentucky Lake’s Pisgah Bay this weekend from 10 to 5 daily. For more information about the upcoming race schedule visit kdba.net or call 800-732-0088.
