Datebook: July 29 - Healthy Soil Workshop, Aluminum Can Project, Low Tech - High Quality

As part of the Jackson Purchase Foundation's Summer Conservation Series, the Murray State University Expo Center hosts a free Healthy Soils workshop and Backyard Conservation workshop this Friday from 9 to noon. Learn how to make the soils in your yard healthy and fertilize correctly to prevent pollution. Pre-register at jpf.org

The WATCH Center at 702 Main Street in Murray needs aluminum cans for an ongoing fundraising project. Drop off cans any time by driving through the parking lot on the west side of the center and placing them in the cotton wagon.

The Tennessee State Library and Archives offers a free workshop titled "Using Low Tech Photos for High Quality Research" this Saturday morning from 9:30-11. Learn how to identify Victorian-era images by their case makers, the names of photographers, and photo studio addresses. For more information about the workshop, call (615) 741-2764.
