West Kentucky Community and Technical College holds a panel discussion titled “Real-life Reflections of the River” Tuesday night at 6:30 in the college’s Matheson Library. Panelists include Kat Russell, Hawkins Teague, DeWayne Visser, and Eli Stewart. The discussion is based on the WKCTC One Book Read of “Saints at the River” by Ron Rash. The event is free and open to the public.
The Murray-Calloway County Hospital Center for Health and Wellness hosts an AARP Safe Driving Class Wednesday from 8 to 12:30. The class is open to seniors age 50 and up. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required.
The Gentry House in Murray is a transitional shelter that helps homeless families who may have suffered from domestic violence or lost jobs. They’re currently seeking donations of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Monetary donations are also appreciated, and volunteer opportunities are available.
