Datebook: January 25 - Poetry Reading, Day of Service, Angels Attic Donations

Adam Day gives a poetry reading this Thursday night at 7:30 at the Clara M. Eagle Gallery, located on the sixth floor of the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building of Murray State University. Day is the author of Model of a City in Civil War and is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships. 

Austin Peay State University holds its Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service this Friday at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. Volunteers package meals for the nonprofit Christian organization Feed My Starving Children, which ships specially-formulated meals to malnourished children and adults in a third-world country. Registration is available at the APSU website.

Angels Attic Thrift Shop seeks donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and toys. Community donations help Angels Attic Thrift Store fund the Angels Community Clinic, the Gentry House for homeless families, and other local agencies. Bring donations to 972 Chestnut Street Monday through Saturday from 8 to 5.
