Warming centers are available in Calloway County for individuals and families without shelter. An overnight center is available from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 1620 West Main Street. A daytime center is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Murray Family Church, located at 411 Maple Street. The Calloway County Public Library and Murray-Calloway County Hospital are also available.
The Challenger Learning Center in Paducah holds a Trivia Night Friday, February 26, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah. The event consists of ten rounds of ten questions, with prizes awarded to the top three teams. Proceeds benefit the Challenger Learning Center. Advance registration is now available.
First United Methodist Church of Murray holds its annual Sew-A-Thon next week. Volunteers cut, sew, and serge dresses, shorts, and blankets for children in Central America. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
