Datebook: January 15 - Teen Spirit Expo, MLK Breakfast, Need Line Donations

The annual Teen Spirit Exhibition opens this Sunday afternoon at the Yeiser Art Center. There’s an opening reception from 2 to 4, and the exhibit remains on display through January 30. The show features 151 pieces by area high school artists. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 5. 

Murray State University holds its Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast and Day of Service this Monday in the MSU Curris Center Ballroom. This year’s service project is an item collection for regional nonprofit organizations. Item collection is from 8 to 9 a.m., with item sorting and packaging from 10:15 to noon and item delivery from noon to 1.

Need Line of Murray seeks donations of canned pasta, hot dogs, bread, fruit, eggs, fresh vegetables, dish liquid, toothbrushes, deodorant, bar soap, and large brown paper bags. Need Line is located at 509 North 8th Street, and donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 10 to 4.
