Tomorrow is the deadline for students in grades 9-12 to enter the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Farm to School Junior Chef competition. Teams consisting of three to five members create a recipe including at least five local products and conforming to National School Lunch Program guidelines. Jabali Afrika, a musical group from Kenya, performs at the West Kentucky Community and Technical College Student Center Wednesday morning at 11. The group showcases original compositions and traditional African rhythms on a variety of instruments along with dancing and traditional tribal costumes. The performance is free and open to the public.

The McCracken County Public Library hosts "Wanted: Freedom Dead or Alive" this Thursday night at 7. The free presentation by Professor Daryl Harris explores and honors the lives and legacies of Kentucky travelers on the Underground Railroad. For more information, visit mclib.net.
