The REAL Hope Youth Center holds their third annual Shiver on the River: Chillin’ for the Children.  The fundraising event is tomorrow at noon at the Paris Landing marina boat ramp, rain or shine.  For a $25 donation, take a dip in the lake, receive a t-shirt, and enjoy a meal at the Paris Landing State Park restaurant.  Registration starts at 11:30. 

West Kentucky Community and Technical College hosts a photography contest complementing the community read of “Half Broke Horses,” by Jeannette Walls.  Photos should focus on horses or images including horses. Learn more at westkentucky.kctcs.edu.

The Paducah Symphony Children’s and Youth Choruses hold auditions Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Paducah.  Kids in grades three though twelve are invited to audition by singing the first verse of “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.”  Schedule an audition by calling 444-0065.

Kala Dunn is a native of Princeton, Ky. She’s a 2006 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy with a concentration in flute performance and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a B.M. in piano performance. She lives in Hamlin, Ky.
Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
