The Paducah Parks Services Department's annual Candy Cane Hunt is this Saturday on the Carson Center lawn. Registration starts at noon and the hunt begins at 1. Children ages 12 and under race to find as many candy canes as they can. Prizes are awarded, and goodie bags are given out while supplies last. The event is free.
There's an Ugly Christmas Sweater Fun Run this Saturday in Paducah preceding the Christmas Parade. The run starts at 14th and Broadway and continues for approximately a mile to finish at Broadway and 2nd Street. Race day registration starts at 3 and the run is at 4:30. The registration form is also available at paducahky.gov.
The "Cram the Cruiser" food drive continues through Dec. 16 at Kentucky State Police Post 1. A KSP cruiser is parked at the entrance of KSP Post 1 on Highway 45 in Graves County. Anyone can drop off nonperishable food items in the cruiser during the food drive, and the KSP takes the items to local food pantries for distribution.
