The Trahern Gallery at Austin Peay State University presents "Cash Crop" featuring the work of Stephen Hayes. The exhibit includes 15 life-size sculptures of human beings in shackles, representing the 15 million people kidnapped and transported by sea during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. There are also prints, drawings, and sculptures that draw parallels between the economics of the Atlantic slave trade and the Third World sweatshops of today. It’s on display through September 21.
