Datebook 5/19: Make a Difference Day, Marvelous Wonderettes, Aluminum Cans Drop-Off

The 106th Bill Wells Make a Difference Day this Saturday from 9 to 1 at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray. Items to be collected include paper, cardboard, eyeglasses, aluminum cans, cell phones, ink jet cartridges, clothes, shoes, prescription drugs, plastics, glass, motor oil, books, and gently used sports gear. The shredder is on site for the disposal of personal documents.

Playhouse in the Park presents “The Marvelous Wonderettes” tomorrow and Saturday night at 7 and Sunday afternoon at 2:30. The show opens at the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy perform classic 50s hits. In Act Two, the Wonderettes reunite to perform music of the 60s at their ten-year reunion. Tickets available online.

The WATCH Center in Murray needs aluminum cans for an ongoing fundraising project. Drop off cans any time by driving through the parking lot on the west side of the center and placing them in the cotton wagon.
