Datebook 4/6: Mad Hatter's Party, Spoons in the Grass, Pond Prowl

The McCracken County Public Library holds a Mad Hatter's Party for teens this Friday at 2:06 p.m. Participants ages 11 to 17 are invited to wear their best hats, play flamingo croquet, and drink tea. More information available on the library's website

There's a book release party celebrating a celebrating a new collection of prose poems by Amelia Martens. The collection is titled "The Spoons in the Grass are There to Dig a Moat." It is the 2014 Linda Bruckheimer Series in Kentucky Literature selection from Sarabande Books. The release party is this Friday night at 6 at Bricolage Art Collective in Paducah.

The Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes holds a Pond Prowl tomorrow morning at 11:30. Learn what lives in a pond besides fish by using nets and magnifiers to search for critters like crayfish, dragonflies, turtles, and tadpoles. Wear shoes that can get wet and muddy.
