The Murray Art Guild presents a printmaking exhibition of work inspired by social activist, feminist theorist, artist, and native Kentuckian bell hooks. The exhibit remains on display through April 1st, and there's an opening reception tonight from 5 to 7 with readings at 5:30.
The fourth annual Wine & Chocolate Festival benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is tomorrow from 1 to 5 at the Julian Carroll Convention Center in Paducah. The event includes chocolate-inspired desserts, wine samplings, live and silent auctions, and live entertainment. Tickets available at the door.
Dr. Jim Humphreys speaks on “Abraham Lincoln, Race, and Emancipation” this Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Calloway County Public Library. Humphreys traces the evolution of Lincoln’s thoughts about race and emancipation from when he was a young politician through the Civil War to the ratification of the 13th Amendment. The presentation is free and open to the public.
