Datebook 3/18: Library Funding Forum, HS Senior Ag Fair, Gentry House Needs

Hopkinsville’s League of Women Voters hosts a forum titled “20/20 Vision for a 2020 Library: Focus on Funding Our Public Library.” The event is Monday evening from 5:30 to 7 at the Forbes Event Center. The forum includes a discussion of the services libraries provide around the state and services participants would like to see the Hopkinsville library offer.

The Calloway County Conservation Office invites high school seniors who will be majoring in agriculture or related fields of natural resources conservation and college students in similar fields to apply for scholarships. Applications are available at the conservation office or from local high school guidance offices. The deadline to apply is Tuesday.

The Gentry House in Murray is a transitional shelter that helps homeless families who may have suffered from domestic violence or lost jobs. They’re currently seeking donations of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Monetary donations are appreciated, and volunteer opportunities are available.
