Datebook 3/16: Art Guild Workshop, Southlandia Exhibit, Forest & Climate Workshop

The Hopkinsville Art Guild holds a workshop tomorrow night from 6 to 9 and Saturday from 9 to 4. Tommy Fletcher instructs participants in figure drawing and portrait oil painting. Registration is required.

An exhibit titled “Southlandia” remains on display through Friday at the Trahern Gallery at Austin Peay State University. Andrew Blanchard’s tongue-in-cheek print works reinterpret places on the periphery of Southern towns and cities that are on the fringe of society. Admission is free.

The Brandon Springs Group Center at Land Between the Lakes holds a Southeastern Forests and Climate Change Educator Workshop on Friday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop helps high school educators learn to teach about climate change impacts on forest ecosystems, the role of forests in sequestering carbon, strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and adapting to changing climactic conditions. Participants receive curriculum and activity guides. Registration is required.
