Murray’s Cheri Theatre holds a special screening this Thursday night at 7:30 celebrating two films made in Calloway County, “5 Dollars” and “Jess+Moss.” The screening honors the five-year anniversary of their Sundance Film Festival premiere. There’s an after-party with filmmaker Clay Jeter and lead and local actors, plus a question and answer session.
The salsa fundraiser “Dancing with Starfish” is this Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Starfish Orphan Ministry headquarters in downtown Paducah. Dance instruction is provided, and there’s a silent auction featuring art by local artists and baked goods. Tickets can be purchased early or at the door. Dress is either casual or salsa attire.
The Murray/Calloway Special Olympics delegation holds its spring sports signup this Thursday night at 6 at the First United Methodist Church gym. All athletes, volunteers, and unified partners interested in learning more are invited to attend. This season’s sports include track and field, soccer, and bocce ball. All skill levels are welcome.
